The HNARP is a systematic regional survey to collect archaeological data on a regional scale to build toward an understanding of human occupation of the landscape since the end of the last ice-age. A systematic survey will provide the opportunity to identify many types of archaeological sites whether prehistoric or historical in context. These sites represent settlement patterns of people moving across the landscape through space and time and help to reconstruct previously unknown sociopolitical organizations and economic adaptations within the region.
